Job summary

Global Technical Talent is seeking a Senior Piping Designer for a Houston-based contract role to support modularized piping projects. The position requires extensive office work with some travel and adherence to client safety standards.

The designer will develop layouts, prepare project documents, and coordinate with BMI and external teams. Ideal candidates have 10–20 years of piping layout experience, proficiency in SmartPlant SP3D, and the ability to deliver complete piping deliverables under

Qualifications

• Experience with piping design and 3D modeling in SmartPlant SP3D.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• TWIC credential preferred.
• 10–20 years of progressive layout, design, and detailing experience.
• Associate or bachelor's degree in drafting technology preferred; degree not required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare project documents for modularized piping design projects.
• Evaluate design problems and develop layout solutions.
• Use independent judgment to develop, recommend, and prepare preliminary and final piping design layouts.
• Produce complete piping deliverables from verbal or written direction provided by a project manager or project piping lead.
• Apply applicable standards, procedures, guidelines, design principles, and industry best practices.
• Coordinate design and detailing activities across assigned projects.
• Collaborate with other disciplines, Burns & McDonnell India (BMI), clients, service suppliers, vendors, and outside personnel.
• Help identify constructability considerations throughout the design phase.
