Job summary

Glumac, a Tetra Tech company, seeks an experienced Senior Plumbing Engineer/Designer to lead plumbing designs and support construction administration across healthcare, commercial, multifamily and educational projects in California. The role includes delivering design through construction, calculations, client consulting, and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

5+ years in consulting, construction, or similar.
Valid PE license or CPD certification.
Proficient in Revit (BIM).
Strong plumbing design experience (commercial, healthcare, process, multifamily or manufacturing).
Clear communicator, organized, solution-oriented, able to work independently.
Must be within commutable distance of Glumac’s Sacramento, SF, or San Diego offices.
Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; visa sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

Lead plumbing piping designs and prepare construction documents.
Perform plumbing calculations including fixture counts, pump heads, hot water loads, and drainage.
Coordinate with ownership, mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural teams.
Support Construction Administration: RFIs, submittal reviews, site visits, field reports.
Adhere to QA/QC policies and escalate issues as needed.
Mentor junior engineers/designers and help grow the local plumbing team.
Assist with Business Development opportunities when needed.
