Job summary

Glumac, a Tetra Tech company, is expanding its plumbing engineering group in California and seeking an experienced Plumbing Engineer/Designer to lead design efforts on healthcare, commercial, multifamily, and educational projects.

The Senior Plumbing Engineer/Designer will oversee plumbing system calculations, collaborate across disciplines, and mentor junior staff, with a hybrid work arrangement requiring two in-office days weekly in Sacramento or San Francisco.

Qualifications

5+ years in plumbing engineering or consulting.
Valid PE license or CPD certification.
Proficient in Revit (BIM).
Strong plumbing design experience across healthcare, commercial, multifamily, or manufacturing.
Clear communicator, organized and independent.
Must be within commuting distance of Sacramento or San Francisco offices; US work authorization required.

Responsibilities

Lead plumbing piping designs and prepare construction documents.
Perform plumbing calculations (fixture counts, pump heads, hot water loads, storm water, condensate).
Coordinate with ownership and multi-discipline teams.
Support Construction Administration (RFI responses, site visits).
Adhere to QA/QC and mentor junior staff.
Assist with Business Development opportunities.
