Job summary

Glumac, a Tetra Tech company, is expanding its plumbing engineering group in Southern California and seeks a Senior Plumbing Engineer to lead plumbing design efforts on healthcare, commercial, multifamily, and educational projects.

The role includes coordinating with multiple disciplines, performing detailed calculations, mentoring junior staff, and supporting construction administration, with a hybrid schedule requiring two in-office days weekly in Los Angeles or Irvine.

Qualifications

7+ years in consulting, construction, or similar.
Valid PE license in the United States.
Proficient in Revit (BIM) for plumbing design.
Strong plumbing design experience across healthcare, commercial, multifamily, and/or manufacturing.
Clear communicator, organized, solution-oriented, able to work independently.
Must be located within commutable distance of Glumac’s Los Angeles or Irvine offices.
Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

Lead plumbing designs and prepare construction documents.
Perform plumbing calculations including fixture counts, pump head, domestic hot water loads, and drainage considerations.
Coordinate with ownership and mechanical/electrical/structural/architectural teams.
Support Construction Administration: RFIs, submittal reviews, site visits, and field reports.
Mentor junior engineers/designers and help grow the local plumbing team.
Assist with Business Development opportunities when needed.
