Job summary

Glumac, a Tetra Tech company, is expanding its plumbing engineering group in California and seeks an experienced Plumbing Engineer/Designer to lead design efforts for healthcare, commercial, multifamily, and educational projects in San Francisco.

The Senior Plumbing Engineer/Designer will oversee piping design from schematic through construction, mentor staff, and collaborate across disciplines, with a hybrid schedule requiring two in-office days per week in Sacramento or San Francisco.

Qualifications

5+ years in consulting, construction, or similar.
Valid PE license or CPD certification.
Proficient in Revit (BIM).
Strong plumbing design experience across healthcare, commercial, multifamily residential and/or manufacturing.
Clear communicator, organized, solution-oriented, able to work independently.
Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Lead plumbing piping designs and prepare construction documents.
Perform plumbing calculations including fixture counts, booster pump head, ejector pump head, domestic hot water loads, etc.
Coordinate with ownership, mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural teams.
Support Construction Administration: RFIs, submittal reviews, site visits, and field reports.
Adhere to QA/QC policies and elevate issues as needed.
Mentor junior engineers/designers and help grow the local plumbing team.
Assist with Business Development opportunities when needed.
