Job summary

Glumac, a Tetra Tech company, is expanding its plumbing engineering group in Northern California and seeks a Senior Plumbing Engineer to lead projects across healthcare, commercial, multifamily, and educational buildings. Responsibilities include leading plumbing designs through Construction Administration and mentoring junior staff.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years in consulting, a valid PE license, strong Revit (BIM) skills, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in consulting, construction, or similar.
• Valid PE license.
• Proficient in Revit (BIM).
• Strong plumbing design experience (healthcare, commercial, multifamily, and/or manufacturing).
• Clear communicator, organized, solution‑oriented, able to work independently.
• Must be located within a commutable distance of Glumac’s Sacramento or San Francisco offices.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis; this position is not eligible for current or future employment visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead plumbing designs and prepare construction documents.
• Perform plumbing calculations including fixtures, booster pump head, ejector pump head, domestic hot water loads, storm water, condensate collection, etc.
• Coordinate with ownership, mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural teams.
• Support Construction Administration: RFIs, submittal reviews, site visits, and field reports.
• Mentor junior engineers/designers and help grow the local plumbing team.
• Assist with Business Development opportunities when needed.
