Job summary

Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR) seeks a Senior Plumbing Designer to develop designs, layouts, and contract documents aligned with our standards and client needs. You will supervise the design team across disciplines and coordinate closely with the project engineer and clients.

Responsibilities include project setup, model maintenance, shop drawing reviews, and on-site coordination as required. Strong mechanical systems background and Navisworks expertise are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree in an applicable discipline or ten years of practical design experience.
• Five years of experience with large-scope projects.
• Ability to read and interpret plans from multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates initial project setup and ensures current model availability with the architect.
• Prepares electronic drawings using industry software with accuracy and efficiency.
• Develops design approaches in coordination with the project engineer.
• Implements design requirements and performs system design layout and sizing.
• Assists in studies, load calculations, and equipment selections.
• Leads collaboration with contractors, owners, and other disciplines.
• Reviews shop drawings, tracks changes, and informs stakeholders.
• Attends project update meetings with clients and team members.
• May serve as Construction Administrator and perform on-site inspections as needed.
• Maintains records of communications and supports QA/QC initiatives.
