Job Title: Senior PLC Technician/Engineer

Experience: 8+ years

Location: Baton Rouge, LA

Schedule: Full-time

Salary: $85,000 and up, depending on qualifications

Classification: Exempt

Summary

Leadership position overseeing the installation, programming, and maintenance of various Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems and related automation solutions.

Job Description

This role involves installing and maintaining PLC systems and electronic automation equipment. Responsibilities include analyzing requirements, commissioning, inspecting hardware and software, troubleshooting, and managing customer relationships throughout the project lifecycle. The position requires technical expertise, critical analysis skills, attention to detail, strong computer skills, and the ability to travel across the United States.

Responsibilities
  1. Lead programming and configuration efforts on PLC platforms (e.g., Allen Bradley).
  2. Perform detailed functional tests on integrated systems from different vendors.
  3. Execute specialized installation and troubleshooting tasks, maintaining configuration databases with minimal supervision.
  4. Design concepts for new PLC systems, including centralized, decentralized, dual redundant, and safety systems.
  5. Program, test, install, and commission PLC systems as required.
  6. Design HMI and SCADA interfaces.
Requirements
  1. At least 8 years of experience in PLC systems and automation.
  2. Strong computer, server, and networking skills, with basic industrial instrumentation knowledge.
  3. Ability to travel as needed.
  4. Valid driver’s license.
  5. Ability to pass drug/alcohol screening and background checks as required.
  6. Compliance with customer site access requirements.
  7. Legal eligibility to work in the U.S. and a stable work history; sponsorship not available.
Physical Requirements
  1. Ability to lift 25+ pounds periodically.
  2. Respond to dangerous situations appropriately.
  3. Perform bending, walking, climbing, kneeling, sitting, and standing for extended periods.
  4. Wearing PPE/Safety gear as required.
