Your Impact:

Pearce/Unified is seeking a Senior Critical Power Field Technician (UPS Field Engineer) for Minneapolis, MN, and surrounding areas. As a Critical Power Technician, you will support customers in onsite preventive, corrective, and restorative maintenance of critical power systems (UPS, DC systems, inverters, PDUs, STS, and standalone reserve batteries). As a Senior UPS Field Service Engineer, you will utilize your expertise to provide swift and effective solutions that meet customer needs.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Install electrical equipment such as rack-mounted UPS units, batteries, and monitoring equipment
  • Maintain Battery Cabinets, Racks, Maintenance Bypass, Battery Monitoring Equipment, DC Systems, and other electrical equipment
  • Perform remedial services including failure analysis, troubleshooting, component replacements, and battery installations
  • Build customer relationships and provide excellent service; upsell products
  • Handle field troubleshooting calls to resolution
  • Respond quickly to critical situations
  • Mentor crew members on site work, troubleshooting, and data analysis techniques
  • Isolate hardware, software, and interface malfunctions using test equipment
  • Note: Duties may evolve based on business and client needs.

Core Experience:

  • Military training in electronics or avionics preferred
  • At least 3 years in critical power field service or technical support, or 5 years in OEM service in critical power
  • Understanding of AC/DC electrical principles
  • Experience with test equipment like multimeters and battery testers
  • Ability to interpret electronics schematics and troubleshoot to component level
  • Knowledge of compliance standards (FCC, FAA, EPA, OSHA)
  • Strong work ethic, punctuality, reliability
  • Sound decision-making skills in fast-paced environments
  • Compliance with OSHA and DOT standards
  • Valid driver’s license and pass pre-employment drug screening
  • Physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds, kneel, crouch, stand for long periods, and travel as needed

Compensation: $35 - $45 depending on experience
