Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, part of RTX, seeks a skilled Electrical/Controls Engineer to design, program, and maintain PLC-based control systems for manufacturing. You will troubleshoot Siemens and Rockwell platforms, calibrate instruments, and collaborate with engineers to optimize processes across modern turbine component production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience (or advanced degree with 3+ years).
• 2+ years PLC programming and troubleshooting experience (Siemens, Rockwell, or similar).
• Familiarity with industrial control systems, instrumentation, and electrical schematics.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• US Citizenship required for access to information.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and troubleshoot Siemens PLC systems to support manufacturing operations.
• Develop, test, and maintain control systems and instrumentation for manufacturing equipment.
• Integrate instrumentation and control systems with existing processes and machinery.
• Create and implement automation strategies to improve quality and reduce costs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve production challenges.
• Perform diagnostics and root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation and control systems to minimize downtime.
• Calibrate instruments and control devices for accuracy.
• Design and implement system upgrades, including hardware and software modifications.
• Maintain detailed documentation of control systems (P&ID and electrical schematics).
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, policies, and industry regulations.
