Job summary

Symbotic is seeking a Senior Industrial Controls Engineer to join our Industrial Automation team in the United States. You will drive PLC development, HMI integration, and the deployment of control solutions at client sites, leveraging Rockwell platforms and modern automation software.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of design and implementation experience, strong leadership, and the ability to collaborate with end users to translate requirements into robust, scalable automation systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Controls/Automation or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years designing and implementing industrial control systems.
• Experience programming Rockwell PLCs (ControlLogix, GuardLogix) and HMIs.
• Strong knowledge of industrial networks and drive controls.
• Experience with Ignition and FactoryTalk ME/SE.
• Willingness to travel up to 40% to US/Canada clients.

Responsibilities

• Define and plan technical work from objectives with stakeholders.
• Lead execution of test strategies and verify compliance with requirements.
• Independently perform technical work and supervise others as needed.
• Provide new control system functionalities including PLC and HMI updates.
• Collaborate with Release management for PLC/HMI updates at client locations.
• Document equipment configuration and team processes for Industrial Controls.
• Coach and develop lesser-experienced engineers.
• Lead design efforts for dedicated automation systems.
