Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with at least 3 years of controls experience.
• Experience with Rockwell Automation or Siemens PLC platforms.
• Experience in control panel design, electrical schematics, and industrial control systems.
• Familiarity with HMI/SCADA such as FactoryTalk View or Ignition.
• Ability to read P&IDs, project specs, and engineering drawings.
• Willingness to travel ~30% and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Develop, configure, and test PLC programs on Rockwell/Siemens platforms.
• Interpret project specifications and P&IDs to support system design.
• Create control narratives, functional descriptions, and drawings.
• Configure HMI/SCADA applications for operation and diagnostics.
• Design control panel schematics and enclosure layouts.
• Prepare BOMs, panel layouts, and submittal packages.
• Coordinate with project teams and support FAT/SAT, commissioning, and training.
• Manage engineering deliverables across multiple projects.

A growing industrial automation and engineering organization is seeking a Controls Project Engineer to support the design, development, and commissioning of automated process systems. This role focuses on PLC programming, control panel engineering, HMI/SCADA development, and project execution within a team environment.

The ideal candidate has hands‑on controls engineering experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to support projects from design through startup and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Develop, configure, and test PLC programs using Rockwell Automation platforms.
• Interpret project specifications, P&IDs, and control requirements to support system design.
• Develop control narratives, functional descriptions, loop drawings, and related engineering documentation.
• Configure HMI/SCADA applications for system operation, diagnostics, and operator interface.
• Design control panel schematics, enclosure layouts, and related electrical documentation.
• Prepare panel layouts, load calculations, bills of materials, and project submittal packages.
• Coordinate with project management, drafting, manufacturing, purchasing, and field service teams.
• Support factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, commissioning, startup, debugging, and customer training.
• Manage engineering deliverables across multiple projects while maintaining quality, accuracy, and schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with at least 3 years of related controls experience
• Experience with Rockwell Automation or Siemens PLC platforms, including Studio 5000, Logix500, or similar.
• Experience with control panel design, electrical schematics, instrumentation, and industrial control systems.
• Working knowledge of HMI/SCADA platforms such as FactoryTalk View or Ignition.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, project specifications, and engineering drawings.
• Willingness to travel approximately 30% to customer and project sites.
• Valid driver’s license required.

This position will require up to 25-30% travel per year.
