Job summary

Symbotic is seeking a Principal Industrial Controls Engineer to lead architecture and strategy for PLC controls and simulation platforms. You will drive reusable platform capabilities, define roadmaps across products and sites, and provide hands-on leadership in Rockwell PLCs, motion control, and OT networking.

You will guide digital twin strategies, design reviews, and cross-functional collaboration with software, robotics, electrical, and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automation or related field.
• Expert-level knowledge of Rockwell Automation PLC platforms, motion control and safety PLCs.
• Experience with simulation/virtual commissioning and HMI/SCADA architectures.

Responsibilities

• Define architecture and lifecycle roadmap for industrial controls and simulation platforms.
• Develop modular PLC capabilities, templates, interfaces, and configuration standards.
• Lead architecture reviews and communicate risks and tradeoffs to stakeholders.
• Mentor engineers and drive technical capability across teams.
