Nusano seeks a Controls Software Engineer to own end-to-end controls software for medium-complexity industrial systems at our West Valley City facilities. You will design, develop, test, and integrate PLC, HMI/SCADA, and networking components in a collaborative, safety-conscious environment.

Responsibilities include creating PLC software, advancing HMI/SCADA applications, and mentoring junior engineers while working with operations, physicists, and technicians to ensure robust control solutions.

Formación

• Bachelor degree or equivalent technical field required.
• Experience developing controls software in industrial or scientific environments.
• Proficiency with IEC 61131-3 languages and HMI/SCADA.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and P&ID drawings.
• Familiarity with networking and distributed control architectures.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsabilidades

• Own design, development, testing, integration, and qualification of controls software for distributed systems (200–500 I/O).
• Create/modify PLC software per specifications and standards.
• Develop and improve HMI/SCADA applications with UX and safety best practices.
• Collaborate with operations, scientists, engineers to integrate hardware and software.
• Integrate PLC software with server-based control frameworks like EPICS/SCADA.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, networks, and interfaces during development and operations.
• Apply industrial protocols (EtherCAT, Modbus, RS-232/485) to design and troubleshoot.
• Participate in hazard analyses and safety risk controls.
• Create design docs, test plans, and training materials.
• Mentor associate engineers on tools, practices, and risk context.
