Job summary

Viable Engineering Solutions LLC is seeking a PLC Controls Engineer III to own controls for assigned portions of automated systems from design through commissioning, including on-site validation and optimization. The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, ladder logic PLC programming, and collaboration with electrical, mechanical, robotics, and software teams.

You will design, develop, and test PLC-based control systems, develop HMI screens and diagnostics, and support R&D automation solutions

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechatronics, electrical or mechanical engineering.
5+ years of industrial automation controls experience.
Experience designing, programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting industrial automation systems.
Strong ladder logic PLC expertise (Allen-Bradley/Siemens).
Hands-on with servo and motion control systems.
Experience with safety circuits and safety PLC logic.
Familiarity with actuators, sensors, robotics, and industrial networks.
Ability to read schematics and perform hands-on repairs.
Experience with HMI and SCADA development.

Responsibilities

Own controls for assigned portions of automated systems, from design through commissioning with minimal oversight.
Design, develop, and deploy PLC-based control systems using ladder logic.
Develop HMI screens, alarms, and diagnostics.
On-site commissioning and validation of system performance.
Integrate hardware and establish I/O mapping.
Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, robotics, and software teams.
Create design specifications, wiring diagrams, and commissioning reports.
Maintain system documentation and change records.
