Job summary

Corning is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to design and develop controls architecture for complex automated systems across manufacturing and process development environments. You will work at the intersection of engineering, software, and hardware with cross-functional teams and vendors, traveling ~15% (some international).

You will design robust PLC/HMI code, integrate hardware/software, and create intuitive HMIs for clear operator feedback, while developing test plans and safety analyses

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
Experience with PLC/HMI programming and automation controls.
Experience with Omron, Allen-Bradley, or Siemens hardware.

Responsibilities

Design controls architecture and develop PLC/HMI code for automated equipment.
Collaborate with mechanical designers, controls technicians, and vendors.
Design PC-based HMIs for effective machine control and operator feedback.
Develop test plans and write technical reports on results.
Perform safety analyses and ensure compliance with standards.
