Job summary

Packsize is seeking a Senior Engineer, Controls in Louisville, KY to manage PLC/OOP codebases across multiple platforms including Codesys, Siemens, and B&R Automation Studio. You will develop high-level structured text, commission machines with servo drives, read schematics, and contribute to code architecture and documentation.

You will document control designs, develop test plans, and collaborate with testing teams while supporting development, production, and on-site operations.

Qualifications

• BS degree in mechanical/electrical engineering, CS or similar.
• Experience with PLC programming and motion control.
• Familiar with IEC 61131-2 programming languages and structured text.
• Experience with Git or SVN for version control.
• Industrial Ethernet and safety programming experience.
• Proficiency with Codesys, Siemens, and B&R Automation Studio.

Responsibilities

• Manage and sustain PLC code bases for various industrial controls platforms.
• Develop high-level OOP structured text code in Codeys, B&R Automation and Siemens.
• Commission new machines with servo drives and sensors.
• Architect and document control application designs.
• Create test plans and work with a testing team to execute tests.
• Assist in resource planning and mentoring junior engineers.
