Job summary

Packsize in Louisville, KY is seeking a PLC/Controls engineer to manage and sustain complex PLC OOP codebases across Codesys, B&R, and Siemens platforms. You will contribute to architecture, development, and commissioning of new machines, with emphasis on safety and reliability.

Ideal candidates have a BS in ME/EE/CS, strong motion control, embedded software in Python/C/C++, and experience with EtherCAT, Git, and engineering change processes.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in ME/EE/CS or similar required.
Experience in motion control and embedded software development.
Proficiency in Python, C, C++, or C# for high‑level programming.
Proven experience with IEC 61131-2/PLCopen languages (Structured Text required).
Git/SVN for code management and collaboration.

Responsibilities

Manage and sustain PLC code bases for multiple industrial platforms.
Develop high level OOP code in Codesys, B&R, and Siemens environments.
Commission new machines and assist in code architecture decisions.
Maintain code in repositories and document control designs.
Develop testing plans and assist with test execution.
Track project status using Azure DevOps/Confluence and travel to sites as needed.
