Job summary

Baseten is seeking talented software engineers to join our Platform team. You will own the testing stack and drive the standards for unit, integration, load, and resilience testing across the organization.

You will build frameworks and tooling that let every engineer prove their code works before it reaches production, with an emphasis on reliability, performance, and scalable CI/CD in a distributed AI inference environment.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Go and/or Python, with hands-on test tooling experience.
• Deep experience with testing frameworks and extending them, not just using them.
• Experience designing integration test infrastructure for distributed systems, including environment provisioning.
• Practical experience with load and performance testing tools and interpreting results.

Responsibilities

• Own Baseten's testing strategy end to end — define the standards, the tiers, and the tooling that engineering teams build against.
• Build and maintain unit, integration, load and performance testing frameworks
• Design end to end test infrastructure that provisions realistic dependencies on demand — ephemeral Kubernetes namespaces, containerized service dependencies, etc.
• Build resilience and chaos testing capabilities and verify graceful degradation and recovery.
• Improve test reliability by addressing flakes, enabling fast CI, and reducing end-to-end wall time.
• Mentor engineers on testing practices and raise the collective bar through code reviews and documentation.
