Job summary

Stack AI in San Francisco is seeking a QA Engineer to join a fast-moving engineering team. You will design, implement, and run automated tests across web, API, and backend systems, build CI/CD integrations, and help shape our quality culture from the ground up.

You will be the first dedicated QA hire, collaborating with engineers, product managers, and designers to ensure reliable releases and scalable testing practices. Proficiency in Python and TS testing tools is essential.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of QA, test automation, or software testing experience.
• Proficiency in Python is required.
• Strong familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript and testing frameworks.
• Experience testing APIs (REST/GraphQL) and end-to-end web apps.
• Understanding of software lifecycles, Git, and CI/CD.
• Attention to detail and collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design, write, and execute test plans for features across web, API, and backend.
• Develop and maintain automated test suites (unit, integration, E2E) for TS + Python stack.
• Run regression and performance tests before releases.
• Identify, document, and verify bugs with engineers.
• Own test automation framework and integrate tests into CI/CD.
• Collaborate with product and engineering to ensure quality.
