Job summary

Baseten is seeking talented and experienced Software Engineers to join the Platform team within the Infrastructure organization. As a senior member, you will own the systems that let every engineer prove their code works before it reaches production.

Our product runs mission-critical AI inference, so correctness, performance, and failure tolerance are essential. Your focus is the full testing stack: fast unit tests, integration harnesses, load tests for GPU-backed workloads, and resilience

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Go and/or Python, with hands-on experience building test tooling and libraries used by other engineers.
• Deep experience with testing frameworks and internals, including extending them beyond usage.
• Experience designing integration test infrastructure for distributed systems with ephemeral environments.
• Practical experience with load and performance testing tools and interpreting results for action.
• Solid Kubernetes and Docker fundamentals for building test infrastructure in real clusters.
• Advanced CI/CD understanding to keep large test suites fast and trustworthy at scale.
• Track record of improving testing culture and ability to influence testing decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own Baseten's testing strategy end to end — define standards, tiers, and toolings.
• Build and maintain unit, integration, load and performance testing frameworks.
• Design end-to-end test infrastructure that provisions realistic dependencies on demand.
• Build resilience and chaos testing capabilities to ensure graceful degradation.
• Improve test reliability by addressing flakes, analysis, and selective execution.
• Incorporate observability into testing with dashboards and health signals.
• Create templates and libraries so new services start with testing in place.
• Collaborate with product and infra teams to turn tests into platform capabilities.
• Mentor engineers on testing practices and raise the overall bar.
