Job summary

Baseten is hiring a Software Engineer for the Platform team to own the full testing stack and end-to-end strategies for our mission-critical AI inference platform in San Francisco. You will build and maintain unit, integration, load and performance testing frameworks and design end-to-end testing infrastructure that provisions realistic dependencies on demand.

You will also drive resilience testing, improve CI/CD speed at scale, and raise testing standards across the organization by mentoring

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Go and/or Python with hands-on experience building test tooling and libraries used by other engineers.
• Deep experience with testing frameworks and their internals, including extending them, not just using them.
• Experience designing integration test infrastructure for distributed systems and ephemer al environment provisioning.

Responsibilities

• Own Baseten's testing strategy end to end — define standards, tiers, and tooling.
• Build and maintain unit, integration, load and performance testing frameworks.
• Design end to end test infrastructure that provisions realistic dependencies on demand.
• Build resilience and chaos testing capabilities: fault injection, network partition, latency simulation, node failure scenarios.
• Attack test suite reliability head-on — flaky tests, test impact analysis, and parallelization.
• Build observability into the testing layer: coverage reporting, test health dashboards, failure triage tooling.
• Create project templates and shared libraries so new services start with testing setups.
• Partner with product and infrastructure teams to turn one-off solutions into platform capabilities.
• Mentor engineers on testing practice and raise the bar through code review.
