Job summary

Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (ICE) is seeking a Senior Engineer, Platform & Site Reliability to own the cloud-native platform and reliability tooling.

You will manage Amazon EKS clusters, implement GitOps, Istio service mesh, and modern observability to keep systems secure and available across regions. In this role you will contribute to Java Spring and React frontends, build platform tooling, run CI/CD pipelines, automate security scans, and mentor junior engineers within an Agile SDLC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• 5+ years in site reliability, platform, DevOps, or software engineering.
• Hands-on experience operating Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies in production, preferably Amazon EKS on AWS.
• Experience with infrastructure as code and GitOps practices and tools.
• Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Working proficiency in Java or TypeScript/JavaScript for automation.

Responsibilities

• Provisions, upgrades, and operates Amazon EKS clusters across multiple AWS regions and environments.
• Manages cloud infrastructure declaratively through Kubernetes using Crossplane and GitOps with ArgoCD.
• Operates and upgrades Istio service mesh, Envoy, and ingress for traffic management and mutual TLS.
• Designs and operates monitoring, logging, and observability solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, OpenTelemetry).
• Builds and maintains CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps) and automated security scanning (SonarQube).
• Writes technical specifications and runbooks; mentors junior engineers.
• Remains current on cloud, DevOps, and SRE best practices.
