Job summary

Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. seeks a Principal Engineer, Software Development to lead full-stack Java and React initiatives. The role focuses on building scalable, reliable cloud-native platforms, with emphasis on Kubernetes, ArgoCD, and observability tooling in an Agile SDLC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience with 10+ years in software/SRE.
• Experience with Java or React, Kubernetes, and cloud-native technologies.
• Experience developing React (TypeScript) front-end applications and managing CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Provides full-stack Java design and development for projects involving application development and infrastructure initiatives.
• Develops front-end applications using React (TypeScript) in collaboration with UX teams to ensure responsive interfaces.
• Designs and develops APIs to support front-end functionality and integration with partners.
• Implements GitOps practices using ArgoCD to manage infrastructure as code.
• Designs and develops monitoring and observability solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, and OpenTelemetry.
• Manages service mesh technologies like Istio and Kiali for traffic management and observability.
• Uses Crossplane for cloud infrastructure management via Kubernetes.
• Participates in reliability design ceremonies and determines technical requirements.
• Writes technical specs based on design and business requirements.
• Develops tests including unit, component, and scenario tests; supports automation.
