Metropolis Technologies is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Platform to join our Advanced Technologies team in Los Angeles. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems that combine hardware with ML, using AWS, Java, Scala, gRPC, and more to deliver high-performance services.

You will build robust backend services in Java/Scala, design gRPC APIs for real-time data transfer, and deploy microservices on Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 8+ years of backend development experience.
• Proven expertise in Java and Scala in production systems.

Responsibilities

• Build robust backend services in Java and Scala for mission‑critical operations.
• Design and implement high‑performance gRPC APIs for real‑time data transfer.
• Leverage Redis and MySQL for reliable storage with low latency.
• Deploy and manage microservices on Kubernetes with scalability and cost efficiency.
• Work with Kafka for event‑driven architectures and real‑time processing.
• Collaborate with Hardware, Machine Learning, and Operations teams to integrate systems.
