Job summary

Groq, Inc. is seeking a senior software engineer and security leader to drive the architecture of security foundations for its inference platform.

You will shape identity, access, encryption, and multi-tenant controls across platform components, partnering with Platform Engineering to deliver scalable, automated security solutions. You will lead the design of authentication, federation, workload identity, and admin access, applying IaC and GitOps practices to production systems.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience building complex infrastructure or distributed systems.
• Experience setting technical direction and owning security architecture across multiple systems/teams.
• Deep experience with identity and access technologies (OIDC, SAML, SCIM, RBAC, workload identity, short-lived credentials, MFA).
• Experience designing security for multi-tenant systems and isolation across network, compute, storage, and control-plane boundaries.
• Hands-on Kubernetes security expertise: RBAC, admission control, service accounts, secrets, policy enforcement, node security.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction and own the architecture for security capabilities across identity, authorization, infrastructure security, encryption, key management, and auditability.
• Design and build identity and access systems including authentication, federation, authorization, workload identity, provisioning, and admin access.
• Build security for Kubernetes and distributed infrastructure using IaC, API/controllers, and GitOps.
• Architect security controls for multi-tenant systems across compute, network, storage, and control-plane boundaries.
• Own infrastructure lifecycle security including provisioning, secrets management, encryption, and certificate lifecycle.
• Develop production software and automation to make secure patterns reliable and scalable.
• Lead security-sensitive platform designs and translate risks into engineering decisions.
