Job summary

Gemini is seeking a Senior Platform Security Engineer to build and maintain security controls across cloud and non‑cloud environments. You will write production code daily, own security initiatives from design to production, and partner with engineering teams to enable secure delivery.

The role requires strong Python/Go skills, hands‑on AWS/Kubernetes security experience, and expertise in PKI, cryptography, identity management, and network security. Hybrid work in the US.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in information security, SRE, or systems engineering.
• Strong software development skills in Python or Go with production services experience.
• Hands-on AWS experience including IAM, VPCs, and native controls.
• Kubernetes/EKS and containerization concepts, including pod security.
• Understanding of IAM principles, RBAC, least-privilege access.
• Terraform for Infrastructure-as-Code.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain security controls for AWS and Kubernetes environments.
• Support IAM initiatives by designing access controls and RBAC models.
• Design, deploy, and maintain internal security services and platforms.
• Partner with engineering teams to enable secure delivery without blocking innovation.
• Collaborate with AppSec, Threat Detection, and GRC to reduce risk across the stack.
• Participate in on‑call rotation for platform security incidents.
