Job summary

Techunting is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join our Platform team on a long-term embedded contract. This hands-on role focuses on turning security expectations into practical standards, reusable controls, and everyday engineering practices that protect our systems and data.

You will code, improve infrastructure and delivery workflows, and collaborate across cloud, DevOps, data, and Platform Operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in security/ platform engineering or related field.
• Hands-on experience shipping security improvements to production.
• Broad knowledge of cloud security, IAM, app/API security, data protection, with deep experience in one area.
• Experience authoring infrastructure as code and security automation.
• Experience integrating automated security checks into engineering workflows (SAST/DAST).
• Strong risk judgment and ability to prioritize improvements.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Assess risks across cloud infrastructure, identity, applications, APIs, software delivery and data protection; maintain a prioritized backlog and communicate tradeoffs.
• Partner with Legal & Compliance to translate requirements into technical controls and validate effectiveness.
• Develop practical security standards with engineers and tech leads, including implementation examples and exception processes.
• Build and maintain reusable infrastructure and security controls as code with peer review and CI/CD delivery.
• Improve access controls, authentication, authorization, secrets management, and data handling in real systems; perform threat modeling and coaching.
• Implement and improve automated security testing throughout development and delivery workflows (SAST/DAST, dependency scanning).
• Establish vulnerability management and coordinated disclosure practices with risk-based prioritization.
• Strengthen security logging, detection, incident readiness, and blameless post-incident reviews.
• Contribute to Platform reliability and developer experience; document decisions and share knowledge.
