Job summary

NorthMark Compute & Cloud is seeking a Senior Platform Security Engineer to secure HPC and cloud infrastructure. You will drive real-time threat detection, vulnerability management, and secure development practices across platform engineering and DevOps teams.

You will embed security into the lifecycle from bare-metal to cloud services, with collaboration across engineering to harden systems against emerging threats.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in security engineering focusing on platform, infrastructure, or application security.
• Experience with vulnerability management tooling and real-time security monitoring platforms (e.g. Qualys, Tenable, Wiz, Lacework, Prisma Cloud, or similar).
• Strong understanding of software and infrastructure security including container security and supply chain risk.
• Experience securing container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, OpenStack) and cloud environments (AWS and/or Azure).
• Proficiency in Linux and familiarity with platform engineering practices.
• Experience integrating security tooling into CI/CD pipelines and IaC workflows; scripting in Python, Bash, Go, or similar.
• Knowledge of CVSS, exploit maturity, and risk-based prioritization.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and operation of the vulnerability management program across the platform engineering stack.
• Implement and tune real-time security monitoring and threat detection tooling.
• Integrate security scanning and vulnerability assessment into CI/CD pipelines and IaC workflows.
• Lead vulnerability triage and prioritization with engineering teams for timely remediation.
• Perform platform-level security assessments, threat modeling, and attack surface analysis.
• Develop automation to continuously assess security posture and reduce manual effort.
• Contribute to improving platform security practices, tooling, and processes.
