Job summary

Scopely is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer (Reliability) to join a new multiplayer strategy game project. The role supports UK/IE/PT/ES locations on a remote or hybrid basis, with visa sponsorship and relocation assistance available.

You will own messaging systems, design observability, and drive reliability across distributed backend systems. Strong SRE background and hands-on NATS JetStream experience are key, along with cloud and IaC fluency.

Qualifications

Experience operating NATS JetStream in production.
Strong observability experience with metrics, logs and traces.
In-depth knowledge of IaC and cloud platforms (AWS).
Ability to read and reason about code (C#, Go, Python) for instrumentation gaps.
Proven track record debugging complex distributed systems.

Responsibilities

Operate and improve messaging infrastructure (NATS cluster/JetStream).
Design observability layer and define signals for metrics and tracing.
Correlate infrastructure signals with app behavior to diagnose root causes.
Define and maintain SLOs and error budgets for services.
Build reliability tooling, runbooks, and internal internal product-like tooling.
Lead incident response and postmortems across layers.
Collaborate with teams to improve architecture and reduce operational risk.
