Job summary

Otter in Los Angeles is seeking a Senior Product Designer for Platform to define the experience architecture and cross‑product systems that shape Otter's unified platform. Your work will influence the foundations every product team builds on and key journeys across the customer lifecycle.

You will lead platform-level workflows, partner with Product and Engineering, collaborate with the Design System team, and explore AI to prototype faster and raise the quality of design outcomes.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of product design experience with leadership in complex projects.
• Strong systems thinking and information architecture for workflow-heavy products.
• Ability to define scalable experience models and cross-product patterns.
• Excellent product judgment balancing usability, flexibility, and constraints.
• Strong cross-functional leadership across Product, Engineering, Design, and stakeholders.
• Experience with complex system models, permissions, configurations, and dependencies.
• Experience partnering with Design System teams and reusable UI foundations.
• Familiarity with emerging technologies such as AI and prototyping to improve speed and quality.
• Comfort operating in ambiguity and identifying opportunities beyond a single feature.
• B2B or enterprise experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define platform-level experience architecture across navigation, hierarchy, permissions, configuration, entitlements, and shared interaction patterns.
• Lead critical cross-product workflows such as onboarding, activation, setup, upsell, and expansion.
• Simplify complex, workflow-heavy tools by creating clear mental models, scalable interaction frameworks, and reusable product patterns.
• Partner deeply with Product and Engineering to align user experience with underlying system models, platform capabilities, and technical constraints.
• Work closely with the Design System team to translate shared product patterns into reusable, consistent UI foundations.
• Embrace new technologies and ways of working to prototype faster, iterate more effectively, and raise the quality of design outcomes.
• Explore how AI and new technologies can lower the barrier to complex software and shift experiences from "using tools" to "getting outcomes as a service," with strong judgment about when to use them—and when not to.
