Anduril Industries in the United States is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to own the NixOS-based software overlay and the tower network topology for Sentry Tower systems. You will shape the build/configuration platform across multiple hardware generations, ensuring reproducible images and scalable deployments.

You will also define integration contracts for payloads, consolidate legacy configurations into a common overlay, and advance the real-time messaging layer as we migrate from legacy

Competenze

• 4+ years of professional software engineering with Linux, embedded platforms, or infrastructure work.
• Deep, practical networking knowledge: VLANs, bridging, routing and policy routing, DHCP, multicast, NAT, and firewalling; fluency with ip, tcpdump, and Wireshark for diagnosing real traffic.
• Strong experience with declarative configuration management and reproducible builds; Nix or NixOS is essential; adjacent depth in Bazel, Buildroot, Yocto, or IaC tooling is a plus.
• Proficiency in Rust or C++ to contribute to core services, not just deployment/configuration.
• Comfort operating and debugging real hardware: serial consoles, provisioning, reflashing, boot issues, remote debugging.
• Ability to define stable technical interfaces and enforce them through reviews and documentation.
• US person status required, with eligibility to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.

Mansioni

• Own the shared base of our NixOS overlay: system modules, compute platform definitions, common tower services, and image definitions.
• Own the tower network topology end to end: VLANs, subnet allocation, bridging, backhaul routing, NAT, firewall policy, and carrier-board mappings.
• Define and enforce the integration contract for payloads so extensions remain aligned with the platform.
• Consolidate legacy per-product configurations into the common overlay with build-time checks.
• Support and extend our real-time messaging layer as we migrate to the new pub-sub system, including topic and schema contracts.
• Debug issues spanning kernel, device trees, systemd, Nix evaluation, and sensor daemons.
