Job summary

Anduril Industries, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own the NixOS overlay and the tower's network topology. You will define the integration contracts for payloads and consolidate legacy configurations into a common base, while supporting real-time messaging systems across multiple layers.

The role focuses on systems, infrastructure, and hardware-facing software, with a direct impact on product reliability in field deployments and multi‑carrier backhaul environments.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering with Linux systems, embedded platforms, or infrastructure work.
• Deep, practical networking knowledge: VLANs, bridging, routing and policy routing, DHCP, multicast, NAT, and firewalling; diagnose with tcpdump/Wireshark.
• Strong experience with declarative configuration management and reproducible builds: Nix/NixOS; related tooling like Bazel/Buildroot/Yocto.
• Proficiency in Rust or C++, reading and modifying services on the platform.
• Ability to define a technical interface that other teams build against and enforce it through review.
• US person status required, with eligibility for a US security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Own the shared base of our NixOS overlay, including system modules, compute platform definitions, and image definitions.
• Own the tower network topology end to end: VLANs, bridges, backhaul, NAT, firewall policy, and carrier board mappings.
• Define and enforce the integration contract for payloads added by business lines.
• Drive consolidation of per-product configurations into the common overlay with build-time checks.
• Support and extend our real-time messaging layer as services migrate to the next-generation system.
• Debug cross-layer issues: kernel, device tree, systemd, Nix evaluation, and sensor daemons.
