Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own the NixOS-based software overlay and the tower network topology for counter-intrusion and air defense systems. You will shape the base images, define network contracts, and ensure cohesive integration across product variants.

Qualifications

4+ years of professional software engineering with Linux systems, embedded platforms, or infrastructure work.
Deep, practical networking knowledge: VLANs, bridging, routing, DHCP, NAT, firewalling; diagnose with ip, tcpdump, Wireshark.
Strong experience with declarative configuration management and reproducible builds (Nix/NixOS).
Proficiency in Rust or C++, to read/modify services above the platform.
Comfort with hardware: serial consoles, provisioning, reflashing, boot problems, remote debugging.
Ability to define a technical interface and maintain it through code reviews and documentation.
US person status with eligibility to obtain/maintain a US security clearance.

Responsibilities

Own the shared base of our NixOS overlay: modules, compute definitions, and common services.
Own the tower network topology end to end: VLANs, bridging, NAT, and carrier mappings.
Define and enforce integration contracts for new payloads to extend the platform.
Drive consolidation of legacy per-product configurations into the common overlay.
Support and extend our real-time messaging layer as we migrate to a next-gen bus.
Debug cross-layer issues from kernel to sensor daemons.
