Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a strategic and visionary infrastructure leader to serve as the platform leader and Senior Chief Engineer for core infrastructure environments in the Denver area.

This role drives platform strategy across HP NonStop, Stratus, and related technologies, aligning modernization with business objectives. You will guide incident management, lifecycle programs, capacity planning, and vendor relationships, while mentoring engineers and coordinating across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a technical field.
• 10+ years delivering software-based enterprise infrastructure.
• Experience leading 24x7 production environments.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the strategic roadmap for HP NonStop (Tandem) and Stratus platforms.
• Develop long-term hardware, software, resiliency, and modernization strategies.
• Establish platform standards, governance, and operational controls.
• Ensure continuous availability, performance, recoverability, and resiliency.
• Lead production operations, incident management, and root-cause analysis.
• Oversee infrastructure lifecycle programs, including hardware refreshes and OS upgrades.
• Manage software maintenance, patching, and security remediation.
• Lead capacity forecasting, performance analytics, and utilization planning.
• Present platform health metrics, risk assessments, and investment recommendations.
• Ensure platform compliance with security standards and audit requirements.
• Lead business continuity and disaster recovery testing and validation.
• Drive automation and reliability engineering practices.
• Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and budgeting.
• Mentor engineers and develop staff through training and knowledge transfer.
• Coordinate cross-functional initiatives with multiple teams.
