Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a strategic and visionary infrastructure leader with deep experience in high-availability, fault-tolerant environments that support mission-critical services.

You will drive platform strategy, modernization, resiliency, and engineering leadership across enterprise-class systems to ensure ongoing reliability and security. In this role you will define roadmaps for core platforms, lead incidents and capacity planning, mentor engineers, manage budgets and vendor relationships,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years delivering software-based solutions for mission-critical enterprise infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the strategic roadmap for HP NonStop (Tandem) and Stratus platforms.
• Develop long-term hardware, software, resiliency, and modernization strategies.
• Establish platform standards, governance, and operational controls.
• Ensure continuous availability, performance, recoverability, and resiliency.
• Lead production operations, incident, problem management, and RCA activities.
• Oversee lifecycle programs: hardware refreshes, OS upgrades, capacity expansions.
• Manage software maintenance, patching, and security remediation.
• Lead capacity forecasting and utilization planning for current and future demand.
• Present health metrics and investment recommendations to senior leadership.
• Ensure compliance with security standards, regulatory controls, and audit readiness.
• Lead business continuity and disaster recovery testing and validation.
• Drive automation and reliability engineering to improve efficiency.
• Manage vendor relationships, technology investments, and maintenance contracts.
• Develop and manage platform budgets across hardware, software, labor, and projects.
• Lead, mentor, and develop teams of engineers and specialists.
• Coordinate cross-functional initiatives with infrastructure, networking, cyber, and apps teams.
• Provide executive communications on platform performance and strategy.
• Foster accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence.
