Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer within the Chief Technology Office to design and deliver cloud‑native platforms and drive architectural decisions across a portfolio of firmwide products.

You will mentor engineers, set engineering standards, and collaborate with Product Owners to translate business goals into measurable technical outcomes while ensuring security, resilience, and scalable delivery across the SDLC.

Qualifications

• 5+ years applied experience in software engineering.
• Distributed system design, architecture, and leadership.
• Experience with AI-assisted software development tools.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI in engineering workflows.
• Proficient in modern programming languages and databases.
• Hands-on with Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Python.
• Experience with AWS cloud-native architectures.
• Strong agile, CI/CD, security practices.
• Mentor engineers and guide architectural decisions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Own platform-level architecture and strategy across one or more platforms.
• Lead complex initiatives end-to-end with reusable patterns.
• Design and implement cloud-native software with integrations (Jira, Bitbucket/GitHub).
• Architect and build backend services, GraphQL APIs, and React UIs.
• Own content and discovery capabilities and pipelines.
• Write secure, well-documented code across languages.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with Product Owners to translate goals.
• Set and enforce security, performance, observability standards.
• Evaluate new technologies and lead proofs of concept.
• Drive AI-assisted engineering practices and quality standards.
