Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer to shape platform architecture and drive end-to-end delivery of cloud-native product suites.

You will mentor engineers, set design standards, and influence cross-team strategy within CTO platforms such as feature request and content tooling. You will own security, reliability, and scalability, contributing to API and front-end ecosystems while aligning technical decisions with business outcomes and KPIs.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts.
• 5+ years applied experience in distributed systems and engineering leadership.
• Experience leading cross-team initiatives and setting engineering standards.
• Experience coaching on AI-assisted development tools and secure, compliant adoption.
• Strong programming background with Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Python.

Responsibilities

• Own platform-level architecture and technical strategy across one or more platforms.
• Lead complex initiatives from discovery to operations, establishing standards and patterns.
• Design and implement cloud-native software with key integrations (Jira Align, Bitbucket/GitHub, event workflows).
• Architect and build backend services, GraphQL APIs, and modern React UIs with modular fronts.
• Mentor engineers, drive design reviews, and align tech decisions with product goals.
• Define SLOs/SLAs, CI/CD quality gates, and secure access controls across platforms.
• Evaluate new technologies to improve developer velocity and platform quality.
