Job summary

Verkada Inc. is seeking an Backend Software Engineer for University Graduate 2027 in San Mateo, CA. You’ll work on scalable distributed systems, contribute to core services, and deploy using Terraform and Kubernetes.

The role requires a CS degree with internship experience and proficiency in Python and/or Go, plus REST API familiarity. This is an on-site, full-time position. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams across the full stack to ship features that impact millions of devices

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or a similar technical field.
• Internship experience developing and launching products.
• Working knowledge of Python and/or Go.
• Comfortable working in an agile software development environment.
• Familiarity with REST APIs; reading Python server code is a plus.
• Must be willing to work onsite five days per week.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable distributed systems handling high traffic from global devices.
• Develop APIs and services using Python and/or Go.
• Work with Redis, DynamoDB, Postgres, Kafka, and SQS.
• Deploy services with Terraform and Kubernetes.
• Collaborate across teams to ship features for Verkada's platform.
