Job summary

The Cigna Group is seeking a Software Engineering Senior Manager to lead the technology platform behind pharmacy fulfillment operations for Home Delivery, Accredo, and Express Scripts. You will modernize systems, drive operational excellence, and develop a high-performing team delivering exceptional service daily.

Responsibilities include shaping strategy, ensuring stability and security, and partnering with product and automation teams to accelerate modernization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering, application support, production systems, or related technology roles.
• 3+ years leading technical, engineering, or application support teams.
• Experience supporting complex enterprise applications in production environments.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or OpenShift.
• Proficiency with C#.NET, C++, Angular, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Demonstrated success diagnosing, resolving, and preventing complex production issues.
• Experience with incident management and root cause analysis.
• Experience working within Agile delivery frameworks.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy, stability, security, and performance of the Safire application platform and related pharmacy tech solutions.
• Drive operational excellence by improving resiliency, scalability, availability, and supportability.
• Partner with Product Owners, engineers, and automation teams to prioritize work and accelerate modernization.
• Evaluate and champion cloud and AI-enabled technologies to enhance outcomes.
• Serve as trusted advisor to business and IT leaders, aligning tech with enterprise standards and goals.
• Lead production incident response, root cause analysis, and prevention strategies.
• Build, coach, and develop a high-performing team of 8–15 professionals.
• Establish and monitor KPIs for platform health and service quality.
• Drive process improvement, change management, and production governance.
• Create an environment empowering teams to solve problems and innovate.
