Job summary

The Cigna Group seeks a Software Engineering Senior Advisor in Seattle, WA to lead a platform team responsible for design, development and QA of REST-based entity services for next-generation service architecture.

Responsibilities include leading scrum teams, collaborating with architects, QA, and management to deliver scalable microservices on AWS, ensuring quality, implementing test strategies, and mentoring peers in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field with 2 years in a Senior/ related role.
• Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of experience accepted.
• Healthcare or pharmacy benefit management industry experience preferred.
• Experience migrating to AWS cloud and data load tooling for large data sets (e.g., Postgres to Aurora).
• Developing data pipelines and real-time data processing via Kafka and S3/Lambda.
• Optimize API response times; work with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and data stores.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of REST-based APIs in a scrum team.
• Define requirements and API specs with architects and experts; write code and tests.
• Mentor team members and drive code quality and refactoring.
• Collaborate with QA to implement test strategy and guidelines.
• Set direction for technology components in the Evernorth environment.
• Communicate status, plan sprints, and align with business needs.
