Job summary

Thomson Reuters is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to design and deliver backend and platform services powering AI agent workflows. You will contribute to CI/CD, orchestration, and cloud infrastructure, focusing on reliability and scalable architecture.

You will mentor junior engineers, participate in on-call rotations, and work with OpenTelemetry and Datadog for observability. Strong Kubernetes (EKS) and AWS experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, including backend design, build, and production operations.
• Strong proficiency in Python (FastAPI or similar) or another backend language with distributed systems experience.
• Hands-on with relational databases (PostgreSQL), caching/messaging (Redis), API design and AWS; Kubernetes (EKS).
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline engineering and progressive delivery patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver backend and platform services powering AI agent workflows.
• Contribute to CI/CD and progressive-delivery infrastructure for safe, continuous shipping.
• Build and maintain cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Make architectural decisions focused on scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in on-call rotation.
• Develop observability through metrics, logging, and tracing.
