Job summary

Fanatics Inc. is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to lead core infrastructure, developer experience, and AI-augmented development practices. You will own features end-to-end, mentor engineers, and push for high-quality, scalable cloud-native systems using AWS/Kubernetes.

The role emphasizes strong Java/Python skills, CI/CD maturity, and proactive observability, with opportunities to influence security and architecture while shipping production code.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or backend engineering.
• Proficiency with cloud-native environments (AWS/Kubernetes).
• Strong experience with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot).
• Ability to evaluate AI-generated code for security gaps or architectural issues and implement testing strategies.
• Experience building mature CI/CD pipelines and observability tooling.

Responsibilities

• Own complex features from ideation to production and production deployment.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and lead incident response for team-owned services.
• Develop and enforce team-wide standards for AI-augmented development and code quality.
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling to reduce delivery friction.
• Contribute to the observability roadmap with monitoring, tracing, and alerting.
