Job summary

Fearless Solutions seeks a Senior Platform Engineer to lead platform modernization and enable software delivery for federal student aid systems. You will design a shared engineering platform with scalable cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and improved developer experience using GitLab, Datadog, and Databricks.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in platform engineering or related roles.
• Bachelor's degree or 4 extra years of related experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Experience standardizing observability and release controls across apps.
• Experience with IaC, CI/CD (GitLab), and cloud-native platforms.
• Datadog observability experience; enterprise tooling like Jira/Confluence.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, and evolution of the enterprise platform for software delivery.
• Design scalable cloud infrastructure and reusable engineering capabilities.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and deployment automation.
• Establish platform engineering best practices and standards.
• Design observability using Datadog; build self-service capabilities.
• Integrate security and DevSecOps into workflows; mentor engineers.
• Partner with engineers, product managers, and security teams to drive adoption.
• Provide technical leadership and prevent fragmentation across teams.
• Troubleshoot platform challenges and improve reliability and security.
