Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a DevOps Engineer IV to advance CI/CD pipelines and platform delivery for public‑sector programs. You will design, build, and maintain automated pipelines in GitLab CI and Jenkins, manage containers on AWS ECS/EKS/Fargate, and implement security gates.

You will mentor engineers, participate in SAFe ceremonies, draft runbooks and deployment docs, and collaborate with multiple delivery teams to improve reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years hands-on AWS, Terraform, and Git/GitLab in production.
• Experience supporting multiple engineering teams from a shared DevOps/platform.
• Designing and building CI/CD pipelines with quality and security gates.
• Strong Docker/containerization and AWS ECS/EKS/Fargate knowledge.
• Familiar with SAST, dependency scanning, and vulnerability remediation.
• Excellent communication and Agile/SAFe collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines in GitLab CI and Jenkins.
• Create shared deployment tooling and Terraform modules for multiple teams.
• Maintain secure base Docker images; deploy on AWS ECS/EKS/Fargate with zero-downtime.
• Enforce security and quality gates (Trivy, SonarQube, OPA) at commit/merge.
• Mitigate over-privileged IAM configurations without impacting production.
• Lead DORA metrics initiatives (Deployment Frequency, MTTR, etc.).
• Author runbooks and deployment docs; mentor engineers; support interviews.
