Job summary

Cboe Global Markets is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to manage and improve our Linux-based systems and platforms, focusing on automation and reliability. You will collaborate with technology and operations to ensure performance, security and availability of our infrastructure.

The role involves on-prem Kubernetes management, software development, and secure CI/CD integration, with a four-day in-office model. Strong Linux, scripting and automation skills required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Linux systems administration and infrastructure experience.
• Production Kubernetes experience, on-premises only preferred.
• Hands-on cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP) in production.
• Strong scripting in Python and Bash; automation focus.
• Experience with SaltStack, Puppet, or Ansible for config mgmt.
• Familiar with Prometheus, Grafana, Loki; observability ethos.
• CI/CD pipelines: Jenkins, GitLab or similar; on-call readiness.
• Security/compliance mindset; CIS/STIGs knowledge is a plus.
• Container runtimes (containerd, Docker) and registries.

Responsibilities

• Manage and improve Linux-based infrastructure for performance and scalability.
• Design, deploy, and maintain on-prem Kubernetes clusters and workloads.
• Develop system-level software, middleware, and APIs for internal platforms.
• Automate workflows and infra tasks using Python, Bash, SaltStack.
• Build and maintain RPMs and internal software repositories.
• Collaborate with SRE, Development, and Security for secure CI/CD and integration.
• Diagnose and resolve complex OS/network/container runtime issues.
• Implement hardened security configurations and identity/access integration.
• Participate in on-call rotation to support critical services.
• Document architectures, tools, and operations for long-term maintainability.
