Job summary

Muon Space is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for our Software Platform team in San Jose, CA. You will design and evolve scalable, reliable platform services, collaborating across teams to deliver end-to-end capabilities.

Role requires 8+ years of software engineering with Python, C++, or Rust, and hands-on experience in Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS. The position is hybrid, on-site three days a week with a competitive salary and equity.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience in production environments.
• Strong proficiency in Python, C++, or Rust.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS in production.
• Experience building and operating mission-critical services with uptime and performance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve high-performance, scalable systems.
• Work across the stack to deliver end-to-end platform capabilities.
• Contribute to architectural decisions shaping core systems.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks and performance issues in production.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing.
• Own features from concept through deployment and operation.
