Job summary

PortX is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to design and manage the cloud infrastructure powering our Kubernetes-based hosting platform in AWS. You will build secure, highly available systems, promote platform tooling, and ensure SOC 2-aligned security practices while collaborating across teams in a fast-moving environment.

You’ll drive end-to-end platform capabilities with Pulumi/Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD, supporting developers and customers as we scale our AI-powered data integration

Qualifications

• Kubernetes in production at scale (5+ years), preferably on AWS EKS.
• Strong IaC experience with Pulumi or Terraform.
• Troubleshooting and debugging across cloud infra and apps.
• Familiarity with GitOps frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
• Security best practices and cloud-native security awareness.
• Experience with observability, monitoring, and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage secure, highly-available, cloud infrastructure using Pulumi.
• Engineer new platform technologies using a variety of languages and tools.
• Support and enhance our internal platform tooling.
• Regularly update all infrastructure components to ensure platform security.
• Ensure systems meet SOC 2 compliance.
• Create and manage networking integrations with customer networks.
• Perform monitoring and performance tuning of Java, Python, Go, and TypeScript based microservice applications.
• Create documentation and diagrams.
• Evangelize Kubernetes, Docker and infrastructure best practices.
• Support development teams configuring applications to run on the infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot production issues and determine the root cause using industry standard observability tools.
• Troubleshoot networking issues using industry standard tools.
• Collaborate across a variety of technology disciplines in a fast-moving environment.
