Job summary

Muon Space is seeking a Platform Engineer to own the shared technical foundation for the HPC team in a hybrid role, with on-site work in San Jose, CA three days per week.

The role focuses on building and delivering FPGA and GPU pipelines, toolchains, and planning processes, while driving cross-team alignment and reporting. You will own the team roadmap in Jira and report on progress and health.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field; 3+ years engineering experience
• Hands-on development experience with FPGA and/or GPU workflows including toolchains, simulation, and build/release pipelines
• Experience owning or contributing to build systems, test environments, and integration pipelines for hardware-adjacent codebases
• Ability to manage variation and complexity across products/missions by defining shared components and reference flows
• Scripting to automate toolchains, orchestrate pipelines, and generate reports
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain complex work to executives and other teams

Responsibilities

• Own platform, build, and delivery for FPGA and GPU code; ensure reproducible, reliable artifacts
• Maintain and evolve build flows, test environments, and CI pipelines
• Manage toolchain environments and keep them up-to-date and documented
• Keep mission portfolio variations small; promote shared components across teams
• Plan and align delivery methods with actual build and delivery practices
• Own roadmap in Jira; enable on-demand snapshot reporting of progress and priorities
• Estimate incoming work packages with tech leads; communicate roadmaps to stakeholders
• Publish weekly state-of-health reports for internal and cross-company audiences
• Maintain and develop onboarding and training material; support Confluence space with up-to-date content
