Job summary

Pair Team is hiring a Senior Platform Engineer to build foundational systems that scale across multiple products. You will own the platform layer and enable product teams to move faster while maintaining security and reliability. This is a fully remote role reporting to the Engineering Manager.

The ideal candidate brings deep Ruby on Rails expertise, strong SQL capabilities, and hands-on experience with AWS and Terraform, plus a track record of maintaining production-grade platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in backend systems.
• Deep expertise in Ruby on Rails; strong in application & data layers.
• Experience building platform-level capabilities (auth/RBAC, jobs, queues, CI/CD).
• Ability to work across application and infrastructure layers.

Responsibilities

• Own the shared platform layer across systems (Patient Care App, AWS, Vendor Integrations, Postgres, Snowflake, Github, CI/CD).
• Establish reusable patterns and conventions for infrastructure interactions.
• Design and improve cloud infrastructure for scalability, reliability, and security.
• Build core Rails services around authorization, jobs, deployments, and integrations.
• Own platform and integration layers beneath product teams.
